Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your journey to becoming a commercial real estate agent in Dubai?

I was born and raised in North London and have been in Dubai for five years. My first visit was a family holiday to see my brother, and I enjoyed it so much that I returned the following year. While exploring the city, I started discussing a potential move with my partner and how it could impact our lifestyle.

I grew up in a multicultural environment and wasn’t particularly academic, so I realised I needed to develop a skill. I pursued an apprenticeship in electrical installation programming and later worked in sales abroad in Turkey. That experience shaped my ability to communicate, negotiate, and work in dynamic markets, which naturally led me to real estate.

How do you think your past career and jobs in the UK helped you in your role as a commercial agent?

The biggest skills I took from my previous jobs were learning how to present a product, make it sound unique and compelling, and engage potential clients. My first sales job was commission-based, though not in real estate, and I quickly realised the thrill of closing deals and the sense of achievement that comes with it. Hard work and persistence have always been the key drivers in my career, and those same principles apply to commercial real estate.

Which areas of Dubai do you specialise in, and where do you currently advise clients to consider for commercial investments?

I specialise in Downtown Dubai, where our office is located. I prefer to work within close proximity because it allows me to provide clients with in-depth knowledge of the area, including amenities, infrastructure, and market trends. In real estate—whether commercial or residential—one of the few constants is location. While buildings and values change, the area itself remains a crucial factor in any investment decision.

What has been your biggest achievement in commercial real estate since joining Equity?

From a numbers perspective, being part of one of the best—if not the best—commercial real estate teams in Dubai and achieving the highest results within the team has been a major accomplishment. But for me, financial success is secondary. My biggest achievement is establishing myself as a respected agent in the industry. My brother, who initially introduced me to commercial real estate, is a well-known figure with significant achievements. Earning recognition as an individual in my own right, rather than just being his brother, and proving myself under that pressure has been my greatest accomplishment.

Looking ahead, what excites you most about the future of commercial real estate in Dubai?

Dubai’s ambition to expand its commercial infrastructure is incredibly exciting. We’re seeing a surge in off-plan developments and high-quality residential projects in areas that, just a few years ago, seemed unlikely to grow. The city’s expansion, urban landscaping, and evolving business hubs will continue to drive demand for commercial spaces. As Dubai develops, so do the opportunities in commercial real estate, making it an exciting market to be part of.
